Daydreamer

Dreams. Dreams are within us, visible at times only when we sleep. But there are certain individuals who dream with their eyes wide open, vision the dream not on a subconscious level, but on a conscious level. The images are created in their mind, formed at first maybe in black and white, blurry pixel images, but then the images slowly form into a figure with color and life. Over time the vision that at first caused confusion begins to make sense, and glimpses of what could be achieved and/or created are seen. These glimpses of clear vision strike a match that lights the flame of passion with in these dreamers souls, and that internal flame directs the dreamers to action to create something real externally from this vision daydream.

These dreamers who dream with eyes wide open are often called daydreamers, and are thought of as not someone to take too seriously. Some say the daydreamers “only have their heads in the clouds; they need to be brought back down to earth”. The daydreamers are seen often by many as delusional, or not fully aware of what’s going on in their external reality, or too innocent or naive to know right from wrong. But in fact the dreamers by day know exactly what is going on, and may be more aware of circumstances that affect future circumstances, or patterns of behavior that affect the society collectively, and maybe they know that all systems that which interact with each other are connected and affect one in turn. Maybe these daydreamers are more aware than the average folk, who seem to deny the daydream.

Daydreamers do not just dream, but they take action to make the dreams into an external reality. This may take time, days to weeks, weeks to months, years to decades and so on… but a daydreamer never gives up, they stick to the vision they see, the vision that is constantly with them, almost haunting them, until it forms into external reality. These visions of the daydreamers aren’t something to be taken lightly. They are to be taken seriously, and these daydreamers must be encouraged to make their dreams a reality, because they may be our future artists that inspire a generation, or future world rulers who inspire and help change the world – for better or for worse – but let’s hope for better.

In actuality, we are all daydreamers. As children we looked to the sky and saw shapes in the clouds, and some of us may have imagined heaven as we looked to the sky, and envisioned another world beyond this one. We read fairy-tales, and believed in the magic of the witch, the cavalry of the knight in armor, and the power of royalty. We re-enacted scenes from our favorite tales, and we believed we were that princess, that knight, or that king, queen, or witch, and we had no judgment on our beliefs. We were free, we dreamed not just by night but by day, and we inspired our own imagination to keep creating. We were artists, and we were not afraid of our dreams.

Dreams turn into goals, and action steps are made to achieve those goals, and little by little the accomplished goals turn into a dream come true. Don’t be afraid to dream by day; the daydreamer could be a future reformer. That individual could be: YOU.

Dream, dream, and never stop dreaming. There are possibilities even with in the impossibilities; possibilities are as limitless as the sky.
